The Vocab Booster series is organized into different topics, with a strong focus on learning new words. The series includes vocabulary for all HSK levels.
Series Summary
Each Booster covers a specific theme, such as technology, food, travel, or daily routines. As you move through the levels, the vocabulary becomes more challenging and the stories become longer.
Most graded readers expect you to guess the meaning of new words from the story. The Vocab Booster series does the opposite. It is based on one simple idea: every word in the story is a new word for you.
This series gives you control. You decide whether you want to study first, or just read, and you choose your own pace. By learning the words before you read, you avoid frustration and enjoy the story more. You recognise the words as you read, and reading helps you reinforce what you have learned.
Before you start an episode, you can see all the new vocabulary in the study section. You can learn the words first, and then read the story to see how they are used in context. This helps you move from memorising words to actually understanding them in real situations.
We also provide an Anki deck so you can practice with spaced repetition and remember the words for longer.
How to Use This Series
- Study – Look at the vocabulary list for the episode before you read.
- Practice – Use the Anki deck to review the words regularly.
- Read – Enjoy the story. You will recognise every word because you already studied it.
- Remember – The words appear again in later episodes, which helps you keep them in your memory.
The Structure
- Beginner (6 episodes): 25 basic words and simple sentence structures for everyday situations.
- Intermediate (11 episodes): 50 new words. More complex stories with useful connecting words and grammar patterns.
- Advanced (11 episodes): 50 new words. Longer texts with richer vocabulary and more natural expressions.
